NZ Goverment Investigates Opening the ACC’s Work Account to Private Insurers

NZ Goverment Investigates Opening the ACC’s Work Account to Private Insurers

Government officials are currently investigating opening up the ACC (Accident Corporation Compensation) scheme to private insurers. The main focus is to allow private insurers to cover workplace accidents. However, other aspects such as treating road accidents, accidents at home and on the sports field may be considered as well.

The PM has stated he believes in competition, regardless of the sector, as it brings benefits to New Zealand. Nearly 300,000 New Zealand workers were injured on the job last year. AIL has always been there for families since 1995.
